This was the first year we visited Geronimo Festival but it won't be our last. Hopefully you'll get some information from our review if you are thinking about booking for 2017. Like any outing my little man was super excited in the car as we set off, not for Geronimo just for the Star Wars Kinder Egg he got from the petrol station. Traffic was light when we arrived just after 10:00 and we had no problems getting a parking space near to the festival. We made our way through the entry point and attached the obligatory wristbands with mobile numbers for the kids. We decided to get a spot in front of the stage as there was a triple bill of Cbeebies presenters: Shipwrecked, Andy Day and Mr Bloom. As we set up camp Bollywood was on and although a little loud the kids loved having a boogie. First of the Cbeebies Triple Bill was Swashbuckle; Cook and Line were up and comedy sing alongs ensued. We knew a few other families in attendance and all the little dudes and dudettes were dancing along to the Swashbuckle theme. Who can resist a 'Swashbuckle Cheer, Aha!' Up next was Andy Day and his dinosaur raps. Our littlest man loves Andy's Prehistoric Adventures and he enjoyed grooving along, although the Pterosaur Ornithocheirus rap (I had to google that) may not have been the most catchy. Andy was entertaining and the Tyrannosaurus on the loose at the end got all the children excited. Finally it was time for the mummies favourite Mr Bloom. Mr Bloom really engaged with the children handing out vegimals and interacting with the children about gardening, nutrition and vegetables. After the shows we decided to take a wander around some of the other zones.
There was lots to do and it was a fun filled day. Lots of shows and workshops were on offer. The Motorcycle Imps and Little Professors were particular favourites of my boys. They also enjoyed the Woodland Zone and making some woodland music. All in all it was a great day and I would highly recommend Geronimo Festival. A bit different to the usual festivals I have attended but a good review from the Dad Lad blog.
