We’ve all been there, it’s dinner time and you and your partner/wife/significant other spend so long discussing/arguing about what you’re going to have to eat that you end up grumpily eating beans on toast at midnight. Over last few weeks, we have tried to avoid this issue and save money by planning our meals in advance.
It is a really simple idea, but highly effective. We sit down at the weekend and come up with some ideas of meals that we fancy for the week ahead. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner and for the boys as well as ourselves. You can choose Baked Potatoes and Beans or take some time looking for exciting new recipes that you’d like to try. I have been using an excel spreadsheet, but you can use google sheets, a scrap of paper whatever you wish to plan out the meals for the week ahead. When planning be realistic, if you know you’re going out for a meal on Saturday or you always have a chippy tea on a Friday then put this in the plan. You can even plan that if you know you will have leftovers then you can have this for your lunch the next day.

At over half way through 2016 there has been some big films: Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Captain America: Civil War, Star Trek Beyond and Deadpool. In last few months of the year we’ve still got more films to look forward to. Here’s 5 films to get excited about before the end of the year.
Doctor Strange Benedict Cumberbatch makes his debut in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not the most popular Marvel character but the trailer is intriguing. Blair Witch A reboot of the old Blair Witch Project film. A fresh batch of college students go in to the woods to see if the scary legends are true Assassin’s Creed I loved this series on the PS3, the free running, the stealth, the storyline, it was a classic. It has taken some time for the film to come out and the history of video game to movie conversions isn’t great, but this one looks special. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them I was never a Harry Potter fan when the books were released, but over time due to the influence of my wife I have succumbed to the magic. This film is based in the Harry Potter universe, but not necessarily a prequel. I am sure this will be immensely popular at the cinema and break some records. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story A first for the Star Wars universe a film not following the Skywalker family (although Darth Vader does make a cameo). This looks like it will be a bit darker than the usual Star Wars franchise which the mature Star Wars fans may enjoy. It will be interesting to see how the Rebel Alliance got their hands on those Death Star plans. I don’t think I’ll get to see all these films at the cinema, but I’m already looking forward to 2017… Episode VIII. Let me know your favourite films of 2016 in the comments. |
