Well it’s been a busy week, starting with a trip to London and ending with T’s 3rd birthday party all with plenty of PJ Masks fun in between.
If you’ve haven’t heard of PJ Masks they go into the night, so they can save the day. The PJ Masks are made up of Gekko, Catboy and Owlette and each night they save day in their PJ’s. Your little ones can watch episodes on Disney Junior or Tiny Pop and now on DVD.
On Tuesday, we were invited to a PJ Masks Half Term Halloween party at the Picturehouse Central, Piccadilly, London. We caught the tube in to London and the boys were very excited; L was dressed in blue like Catboy and T was dressed in green like Gekko.
It was a fantastic event with lots of PJ Masks activities. L enjoyed boogieing along to the PJ Masks theme with diddi dance for the PJ Masks Super Dance Party (https://www.diddidance.com/pj-masks-super-dance-party/). diddi dance is holding PJ Masks Super Dance Parties in their classes from Monday 30th October to Sunday 5th November to raise funds for the Youth Sport Trust.
After the diddi dance there was a fantastic surprise; Gekko, Catboy and Owlette arrived and spent some time with all the children at the party. Both L and T were excited, but T was thrilled to meet Gekko and gave him lots of high-fives.
There was also lots of other activities including face painting, colouring and the new PJ Masks Headquarters Playset and other toys to play with.
The event culminated in a screening of 2 episodes of PJ Masks and a sneak peak of PJ Masks series 2 including some new heroes and villains. Both T and L enjoyed watching PJ Masks on the big screen and T was singing along to theme tune in his loudest voice. The boys were lucky to get a fantastic goodie bag at the end of the event filled with lots of amazing PJ Masks treats. It included a jigsaw, magazine and the new PJ Masks DVD ‘Time to be a Hero’ plus many more toys and items.
Finally, the week culminated in T’s 3rd birthday party with all his friends. He wore his Gekko outfit which he got for his birthday and had his face painted again. He had a Gekko mask painted on, so he didn’t have to keep his actual mask on. He had a PJ Masks cake and received lots of PJ Masks presents, it’s a good job he loves PJ Masks
If you want to grab the PJ Masks DVD it’s out now and you can get it from Amazon.

This week's Movie Music Monday track is Clubbed to Death from The Matrix. It's hard to believe that the Matrix is nearly 20 years old. Clubbed to Death is a 1995 instrumental composition by Rob Dougan. It appeared in the 1997 film Clubbed to Death and was then included in the 1999 release of The Matrix.
I enjoy the mix of classical and dance music. It has a great build and bass at the start. In the film the track accompanies a scene between Morpheus and Neo as they discuss people still being stuck in the Matrix culminating in the 'girl in the red dress'. Check out the track here:
If you have any favourite movie themes or songs you would like to share then let me know in the comments.
Ooh, heaven is a place on earth … and it’s in the North of England in Bury. Ever since I’ve been old enough to hold a NES pad, I’ve loved computer games. Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to visit the Arcade Club in Bury and it was amazing.
The Arcade Club is a free play video game arcade made up of 2 floors, a classic arcade level and a modern arcade level. Upon arrival, you pay the £15 entry fee (£10 entry and £5 for children is available) and make your way up the industrial building to the 2nd and 3rd floor.
The classic arcade level provides a nostalgia fuelled time travel back to your youth with classics such as SEGA Rally, Time Crisis, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Simpsons among many. This time you won’t have to pull on your mother’s coat tails demanding all her loose change as all the games are free to play. You just hit that start button and go. Queuing was minimal and there is plenty to keep you entertained while you wait to play Mortal Kombat 2 for the first time in 20 years.
With the release of Blade Runner 2049, I thought it would be a good chance to reminisce and listen to the soundtrack from the original Blade Runner. The original soundtrack was composed by Vangelis for Ridley Scott's 1982 film. It is mostly a dark, melodic combination of classical composition and synthesizers which mirrors the futuristic film noir envisioned by Scott. It was produced by Vangelis and performed by The New American Orchestra.
Well after a bit of a break I'm back. Classical Music Mondays has changed to Movie Music Mondays, there will still be some classical music from time to time, but I wanted to share some other great movie tracks as well.
This week's Movie Music Mondays track is from the film Tron: Legacy. I enjoyed both the original Tron and Tron:Legacy and hope Disney will develop the franchise in the future, although that currently doesn't look likely.
One of the stand out features of Tron: Legacy was the soundtrack which was produced by Daft Punk. Daft Punk have produced some great albums in the 90's and 00's and classic songs like 'Around the World' and 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger'. There are some great tracks on the Tron: Legacy album like 'Derezzed' and 'End of Line', but the track which takes this weeks Movie Music Mondays title is Daft Punk - 'The Games Has Changed'.
I love the track and if it comes on while I'm driving I have to be careful not to hit the accelerator and imagine I'm driving a 'light cycle'. Enjoy the tune and let me know in the comments your thoughts and favourite Movie Music.
