This weekend we were given the opportunity to be at the launch of a brand-new children's book - 'Wendy and the Biscuit Tree' by Lorna McCann. Lorna is a fellow mum of 2 boys and a local author based in Shropshire. This is her first book, which is illustrated by Holly Bushnell.
The book tells of Wendy the smallest giraffe in the woods and the story of how she discovers an enormous biscuit tree.

As a family treat Grandma and Grandad Bickham decided to take us all to Chill Factore’s Santa’s Snow Kingdom. It was a lovely day and we all had lots of fun in the snow. Chill Factore is in Manchester near the Trafford Centre, it’s an indoor snow slope with lots of activities to choose from.
We arrived a little early so decided to grab a hot a drink and some breakfast in the Wetherspoons’ Castle in the Air. The free parking was starting to get busy, but we managed to find a spot just around the side of the entrance.
It’s that time of year again, Summer is over and the Christmas season is upon us.
You may be asking yourself, which are the biggest toys for Christmas 2016? Here are my predictions of the top Toys for Boys (and girls) for Christmas 2016: Lego, Star Wars, Paw Patrol, Nerf and Blaze and the Monster Machines. If previous years are to go by then get shopping now, as by the end of November they’ll be on eBay for double the RRP! Lego A regular candidate for any top toy list. Lego has the versatility, the range and the licences to ensure it will be on many kids or even grown-ups wish lists this Christmas. Whether it’s the annual Lego advent calendar or Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum, I am sure there’ll be families deeply studying instructions hoping to complete their next ‘build’ on Christmas Day. In fact, I remember spending the majority of my 1990 Christmas building the Lego Train Set.
Another trip down memory lane. A lot of my childhood memories include kid’s cartoons; it’s no surprise really, I was a kid at the time after all. There are lots I could choose from, but one of my favourites was ThunderCats … ThunderCats, ThunderCats, Ho!
This is the final blog in a 3-part series about gifts for Dads this Christmas. This blog gives ideas of gifts for a Dad for under £10. Genuinely Christmas is a period for spending time with family, but if you are still looking for gift ideas then these might help to make Christmas a little more magical for your Dad, husband, partner or loved one.
We have avoided the usual Dad gifts of socks, ties and scarves as most Dads have still got the ones they received last year. |
