In less than 2 months the biggest film in cinema history will drop; this may sound a little premature but there is no doubt about it. Pre-order tickets are selling out fast and cinemas are preparing to open almost 24 hours to show the film. The Force Awakens is going to be BIG!
This in mind I thought I'd have a go at making a few predictions about the new film in the franchise. I've not seen the film and I'm not tight bros with J.J. Abrams so this is not spoilers, just a fan having a go at making a few educated guesses. 1. Rey My prediction for Rey is that she is Han and Leia's daughter. This is not a massive shock and a prediction that's been around since the film was announced. The marketing doesn't give Rey or Finn a second name and therefore it can be inferred that this is because this information will give away part of the plot. 2. Luke Skywalker He isn't in the posters and his face isn't shown in the trailers but it is implied that he is in the trailer placing a hand on R2D2 in trailer 2 and the his voice states "I have it". My prediction is that he is in the film but that it is not till later on that he is revealed and his role clarified. I'm not feeling the predictions that he is a SIth or that he has been disfigured in someway. In an interview during filming he indicated that he was contractually obliged to grow a beard and in the press shots released so far he has a look of Ben Kenobi rather than a SIth lord. 3. The Ewoks are done for This is probably my wildest prediction but bare with me and let me explain. Kylo Ren or the First Order have to go to Endor; we have seen him holding Darth Vader's mask and this was last seen on Endor when Luke set his father on fire (after he'd already died). Warwick Davies is returning and in some marketing has been referred to as Wicket. Finally in the latest trailer we can see the brand new 'Death Star' being tested, a foresty planet been blown up and the Kylo Ren stating "I will finish what you started," so what better way to get started than to destroy the pesky Ewoks who foiled his plans. This is a big dark prediction but what a message JJ Abrams would send to the Star Wars universe and the merchandise loving Lucas. It would also be a bit symbol that this franchise is for all those kids that are now adults. Comment below if you agree, disagree or have your own theories. Also you can watch the final trailer here:

1. Don't follow advice. Well not all advice, as a new dad you'll soon realise that everyone has got an opinion. If you try and follow it all then you'll soon end up getting in a twist. Listen to advice but just follow the advice that is right for you and your new family. 2. Get plenty of sleep. Although no amount of sleep can prepare you for sleep deprivation you are about to encounter, try to get as much sleep as possible and take the time to appreciate it. When the baby comes you may agree a rota with your partner so everyone always gets a bit of sleep. 3. Spend time with your family. No amount of money can replace time with your family and it is even more important in the first few weeks as babies change so quickly that if you blink you'll miss it. 4. Remember it's okay to be stressed. You are a new dad this is a very stressful time and you're going to feel stressed and out of your depth but that's okay and it shows that you are thinking about other people and you care. 5. Read. Read as early and often as you can, there is no greater skill or gift you can give your child than the ability to read and to enjoy reading. Later in life when they can read then nothing can hold them back, they will be able to teach themselves anything. 6. Get ready to be happy. I can not explain how much the joy of being a dad will bring you. Everyday your child will give you a reason to smile and there is no better feeling. Just remember to take the time to enjoy it. |
