I have always loved photography and so has everybody else it seems since the explosion of camera phones and later smart phones. Since I have become a father, photography has become even more important to me, as I want to record and capture those precious memories and moments in time with my children. Even now I enjoy looking back at pictures of when my boys were just a few days old and they never fail to bring a smile to my face. There are two aspects to photography which interest me. Firstly, the recording of memories to look back on in the future; the capturing of a specific moment in time which will never be lost. The feelings that flow when you look back on the pictures at a later date and remember all the happy memories. Secondly, I love the beauty or the art of photography. They say ‘a picture tells a thousand words’, and I certainly believe that. When I look at the photographs of others, if I am lost in the picture for a few seconds I know it’s a great picture. It has captured my interest and made me stop and take a harder look. If you are not sure what I mean just check out some of the work of Ansel Adams and his landscapes of America. I will keep taking pictures as long as I have a camera and hopefully one day I can take a shot that makes someone else stop and stare. Here is a little showcase of some of my favourite pictures:
