As soon as I saw a preview for the Duel on Naboo set, I wanted it. Although like many, I’m not a big fan of the Star Wars prequel films I did enjoy the fight scene in the Phantom Menace between Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The acrobatics of Darth Maul and the classic Duel of Fates theme from John Williams create an incredible scene. Also, Darth Maul is one of L’s favourite characters.
The LEGO Star Wars Duel on Naboo (75169) set is currently priced at £19.99 (foreign prices may vary) which I believe is a reasonable price for 3 LEGO Minifigures and an interactive set.
I thought it would be nice to create a stop motion animation of the build:
The set is aimed at 7 – 12 year olds. L is 4 and needed help throughout, the mechanism which opens and closes the laser doors was a little bit tricky. I may have attached a couple of the wrong pieces, so pay particular attention while your completing this section.
The set also includes a catapult function in the generator core. This allows you to put Obi-Wan in the generator and re-enact his Force Jump before chopping Darth Maul in two. The set is solid and not one that is going to need rebuilding time and time again.
Overall I am very happy with this set, 3 popular LEGO Minifigures and a sturdy interactive set to re-create a favourite Star Wars scene for under £20 is a good buy.

Looks like a cool little build & video. I guess I was put off this set by the fact I'm not a fan of I-III - we in fact, as 5yo has stated she "hates" the prequels. I also have these minifgures in far earlier versions, so early that the Jedi have the classic yellow skin tone.

I think it's a great build for the price tag, we're not a massive fan of the prequels either, although they do have some cool scenes at times.

Defo agree with the price and the three key mini-figures equals fab value for money as well as one of the better scenes in the film too. Loving the little re-enactment too. ;-)

See I'm a fan of the sequels! Especially a sucker for Liam Neeson ;D this set has been on my wishlist for a while, even more so after seeing that stop motion! Thank you for linking up with #TheLEGOLinky :)
